About 70 PET bottles make the new VAUDE Bag Collection

The Summer 2014 Collection goes by the name of Renascence – or rebirth. A tribute to the origins of the VAUDE bags in recycled bottles. In addition the primary material also meets stringent environmental bluesign standards. Messenger bags, office bags and Co. are all made with special attention paid to resource conservation.

VAUDE has set its sight on becoming Europe’s most sustainable outdoor brand. True to the motto “Dedicated to making (y)our world a better place”, VAUDE’s Packs ‘n Bags Segment is launching a new ecologically friendly line of bags in April 2014. Depending on size and version, approximately 12 recycled bottles are used to manufacture each bag in the Renascence Collection. The advantages of using recycled bottles are manifold: the manufacturing process requires 50% less energy and gives off about 50% less CO2 emissions. The use of new fossil raw materials from oil can be also completely omitted. Yet not enough: the production of the lining, the outer material and even the buckles meets the strict environmental “bluesign” standard throughout the entire supply chain. bluesign, the most stringent ecological textile standard worldwide, functions in many ways as a “purity law”: only materials that cause no harm to either people or the environment are used in the supply chain. The use of resources is also minimized and organized according to the principle of Best Available Technologies (BAT).

The Renascence Collection consists of two sporty unisex messenger bags (model Bunya), a horizontal and a vertical office bag for women (Curanda and Conjola), a small tablet compatible bag (Yengo) and a classically styled briefcase (Alton). With a great selection of colors to choose from, including fresh yellow (sulphur) and blue (teal blue), as well as laid back brown and grey tones (saddle brown and elephant), VAUDE has a bag for everyone. Classic black isn’t missing here either, nor are all the great practical features and details VAUDE is known for.
