W.L. Gore & Associates (Gore) introduces GORE-TEX® road running shoes that fit and feel like regular road running shoes. From autumn and winter in 2017, runners can enjoy the benefit of breathability, water and cold protection yet with the fit and feel of non-protective running shoes. With GORE® Invisible Fit™ Technology, the GORE-TEX® membrane is engineered to bond to a variety of athletic uppers, keeping feet dry and comfortable in the foulest of running conditions; all backed-up with Gore’s GUARANTEED TO KEEP YOU DRY™ Promise. The first GORE-TEX® running shoes with GORE® Invisible Fit™ technology made by Saucony and Inov-8 will be available at retail from autumn/winter 2017.

With improved alignment of GORE-TEX® construction in running footwear, wrinkles and folds are eliminated and pressure marks are significantly reduced. This technology also allows a custom drop liner in the heel eliminating stitching abrasion points along the ankle and down the heel. A reduced gusset height brings a more comfortable tongue construction with no irritation on the instep. The lighter construction reduces its weight by up to 18%* and is quieter, thanks to the removal of crunching or popping sounds. Reduced water pick up and 50%* faster dry-out times will not go unnoticed or unappreciated in harsh running conditions. Thanks to colour style customization at the heel drop liner, shoes look as great as they perform.

Brian Gallagher, global footwear marketing leader, said, “As more runners run under the rain and wet road, this newest technology from Gore will bring more business opportunity”. Based on Gore consumer surveys, 65% of runners run in wet, rain or snow conditions in the US. 75% of runners run in colder weather and 78% of runners value water proof, wind proof and breathability in their running shoes. “We listened to our consumer needs very actively and came up with the solution.”
