On the evening of Friday 22 January the Alpe di Siusi (Italy) will again be the venue for fun, snow and healthy physical activity, all combined in a fairy-tale setting. It is a rallying cry to fans of cross-country skiing to compete in the Moonlight Classic, the Nordic skiing race held under the light of the full moon in a magical atmosphere, where nature gently envelops both the public and the participants.

LIGHT AND SNOW
The only lights illuminating the path will be the full moon, the lamps on the foreheads of the athletes and the torches that the organisers will place along the two 15- and 30-kilometre trails laid for the classic technique. The snowbound silence and natural beauty of the Alpe di Siusi will ensure an unforgettable experience for participants and public alike with a spectacle of sport and light up on Europe’s largest high plateau.

A WEEKEND SOUTH TYROLEAN STYLE
For this tenth edition, there will be a full moon on the weekend, offering visitors the possibility of a truly unique Friday evening thanks to the Moonlight Classic. The Alpe di Siusi will not only enjoy the spectacle of the race itself, but also an accompanying programme with a performance by whipping artists dressed in traditional costume and a chance to taste South Tyrolean foods in the tent located close to the starting (and finishing) line, all while listening to South Tyrolean folk songs.
