SPEEDMACHINE 130 Nordica <br />Winter 2016.17

Modern Technology Meets Timeless Design. With infrared heat, thermoformable cork material in the liner and adjustable components, the Nordica Speedmachine can be customized to every foot.

Nordica developed the Speedmachine 130, a high performance customizable ski boot that meets the highest demands of performance and comfort. The combination of the new ergonomic shell and the 3D Cork Fit liner gives the Speedmachine 130 an excellent fit “out of the box”. The Speedmachine130 also offers the new TRI-FIT Customization, which allows the shell, liner and components to all be customized. The shell can be customized by using our new Infrared Technology heating system that modifies the shell at the necessary areas without compromising the shell material. The liner consists of natural cork compound and a pre-molded 3D laminate material that is easily customizable to the skier. The screwed components are ideal for custom fitting the boots.

The perfect shell with Infrared
For 2016, Nordica developed a new method for individual customization of the ski boot shell that can be used by all specialty dealers, and not only by trained specialists. In the process, targeted points of the shell are heated with infrared heat. This heating method of the shell material does not damage the shell and evenly and gently heats the shell on the inside and out, not like hot air guns where the plastic can be over heated or burned. Subsequently, the relevant areas can be brought into the desired shape by using Infrared technology and the Infrared tools.

Tri-force shell construction is light-weight
Nordica introduces the new light-weight Bi-injected PU performance chassis for the high performance Speedmachine ski boot. The spine and sole of the boot consist of a thicker material that is located exactly at the positions with the highest stress points. While the cuff and lower shell consist of a thinner and lighter plastic. Because the spine and the sole of the boot form a support frame, this reduction of the weight on the cuff and lower shell have no influence on the performance of the boot. At size 26.5, Nordica’s Speedmachine 130 weighs below 2000 grams.

Adaptable liner
Does it have cork?  Nordica’s ski specialists love to answer this question with an enthusiastic “yes” as cork significantly increases the comfort and fit of Nordica’s Speedmachine boots. Thermoformable inserts of cork granulate around the ankle enable the individual adaptation of the already anatomically designed liner. In addition, the cork material dampens impact and has excellent thermal insulation characteristics. The tongue of the liner is also new, with gel-like inserts along the shinbone to prevent pressure points.

Variable components
The final fine-tuning of the Speedmachine includes the option of customizing the components. The buckles and the power strap at the top of the cuff are screwed, not riveted, onto the boot and can be moved at will. The canting can also be individually set for complete customization.
