Croz 38 Alpine Backpack – Working Tool for Alpine Purists

The Croz is a robust alpine backpack for mountaineering pros – lightweight and no-nonsense. Because to be honest, if an experienced mountain guide doesn’t need it, you don’t need it either. Real alpinists need a dependable and rock-solid tool, not a gizmo with 1000 functions.

Eliminating unnecessary technical features decreases the weight of this pack and increases its dependability. The exceptionally robust floor made from 500D Cordura® and the primary material made from 400D ripstop nylon have what you need when it comes to rough handling with rock, ice and hardware. An integrated aluminum frame and a Synergy Mold-contact back guarantee compact stability and excellent load distribution. The pack buckles and attachment options for ice tools are easy to use – even when wearing gloves. Absolute purists can even remove the top lid compartment, the hipbelt and the stabilizing aluminum frame to reduce the weight down to below 1 kg.

VAUDE offers the lightweight Croz in three sizes: 28-liter, 38-liter and 48-liter.

Simony Alpine Backpack – Ready for Anything

On the other hand, VAUDE has developed the Simony for alpine all-rounders: an extremely versatile, classically constructed alpine backpack for year-round use. Rock climbing tours, backcountry hiking trips, winter ski tours, glacier crossings and maybe even a Via Ferrate tour through the Dolomites on a weekend in autumn – for Simony and its carrier, there’s no reason to take a break. A backpack that features best stability and a compact shape, along with a Synergy Mold close contact back, an integrated PE plate and fully adjustable F.L.A.S.H. NT shoulder straps. A flat hipbelt keeps the pack in position, distributing the load comfortably so it doesn’t get in your way even when climbing with a harness.

Sophisticated functionality and technical features are the result of 40 years of mountain experience. Well-designed attachment options for picks and ropes, rugged side ski attachment with compression straps, truly flexible pack volume thanks to detachable lid, along with a front crampon compartment and highly abrasion resistant nylon materials. Features that keep climbers prepared for anything, even on unfamiliar routes.

The Simony backpack will be available starting Spring 2015, in both 30 and 40 carrying capacities, and in the colors black, indian red and hydro blue, in addition to a special women’s version: the Women’s Simony 36+8.
