SPEAKERS & BREAK-OUT SESSIONS:

Delegates will be presented with a range of keynote speeches and breakout sessions that focus on building outdoor participation; deal with market forces that are changing us, such as technology, supply chains, data and retail dynamics, as well as creating wider societal and business value through thought leadership. The line-up already boasts some must-see speakers including;

Jens Nymand Christensen, Deputy Director-General for Education and Culture, European Commission. Jens will be speaking on the importance of a physically active population to the nations of Europe and why this is now central to policy within the European Commission.

Rick Ridgeway, Vice President of Public Engagement, Patagonia. Rick will offer valuable insight into Patagonia’s very distinct and non-traditional, yet highly successful approach to CSR, offering delegates key insights on how some of these practices can be implemented by all companies, both large and small to provide real and tangible value.

Cyndi Rhoades, Founder/CEO, Worn Again. Cyndi will present a break-out session on the circular economy, titled ‘Why Circles are Better than Straight Lines’ and will explore some of the key hurdles preventing the industry from achieving a circular resource model today and how these challenges might be overcome.

Donna Burbank, Managing Director, Global Data Strategy. With data-driven digital technology transforming the way organisations worldwide are doing business, Donna’s presentation will help demystify the current data-driven digital solutions on the market today, and will discuss real-world success stories from multiple industries that can have practical applications in the outdoor sports marketplace.

Andrew Denton, CEO, Outdoor Industries Association UK. At the EOS Andrew will give a short presentation on ‘The Journey to Impacting Outdoor Participation’. He will speak about the overwhelming urgency to get Europe active, how the goals of the industry can be aligned with the health and social goals of the political community, and ultimately, using the UK as an example, show the political path to success and what a future could look like. This presentation will be closely linked to the EOG ‘itsgreatoutthere’ campaign.

Daniel Macaulay, Founder & Strategic Director, Brandwave. Daniel will be looking at the impact that strategic brand positioning can have on all business aspects of brands operating in the Outdoor industry. He’ll be analysing how repositioning a brand can redefine a company’s core values and discussing the techniques that some of the most iconic brands use to successfully differentiate themselves from their competitors.

Christer Flythstrom, Director, Brandwav. Injecting his own unique style and humour into the EOS proceedings, Christer will keep delegates engaged, informed and entertained throughout the summit.
