ABISKO TENTS Fjällräven <BR />Summer 2016

In the summer of 2016, Fjällräven is launching a whole new tent collection with no less than 16 models divided into two families. These  newcomers are the result of a comprehensive development project where every component of Fjällräven’s tents has been trimmed to save weight, without any compromises being made on Fjällräven’s hard demands on durability, reliability and user-friendliness. The tents are made from newly developed, extremely strong fabrics, have new constructions and a number of practical features that make for even easier handling, all year round.

“High-performance materials, functional designs and good workmanship make excellent tents and our development team has created tents that lift detailing, usability and handling to totally new levels. These are tents that stand out not only for their low weights but also because they offer
unbeatable performance in the wilderness,” says Henrik Andersson, who is responsible for development and design at Fjällräven.
For these new tents, Fjällräven took their existing award-winning models and totally reworked them. Among the most prominent changes are the newly developed, extremely strong lightweight fabrics in double-sided silicon-coated Triple ripstop nylon. In the flysheets, two of these new fabrics have been combined to optimise strength/weight ratios. The tents also come with exceptionally strong DAC aluminium poles, Dyneema guylines and a number of smart features making them stand out as absolutely world class.

With the new collection, Fjällräven is now offering a larger selection of models divided into two families, Keb and Abisko, to make it easier to find a good tent for specific purposes and needs.
• Abisko tents are developed for those who want a light backpack but retain a high level of strength in their tent. They have a broad area of use but are less suitable for very extreme winter conditions.
