Snow Industry Awards 2015:  La Sportiva wins two awards

“Best New Media Campaign and best packaging”, this was the decision made by the Italian retailer members of the jury, for the Outdoor Industry Award.

The long-awaited 2015 Snow Industry Awards ceremony took place on Friday, 10th April at the Prowinter Forum in Bolzano (Italy). An event organized by the Sports Press publishing group in collaboration with magazines: Pointbreak Magazine, Outdoor Magazine and Sport4Trade and Prowinter. The objective: to reward and recognise the excellence and commitment of those companies operating in the field of snow sports by acclaiming  the best advertising campaigns and the most significant activities.

There was a remarkable feedback firstly from the companies, which presented many qualified nominations in the various products categories (in some categories there were more than 30 nominations). Secondly on behalf of the retailers, who formed the special jury called to choose the final winner. Here are the winners for each category (all the details and pictures of the award ceremony will be available in the next issues of our publications):

A double prize then for La Sportiva: the new media campaign dedicated to the winter boot Syborg which included a video emphasising the name of the boot and the synergy of man and machine aimed at increasing race performance. A campaign complemented by a visual off-line and display campaign with landing pages on the major European outdoor industry portals.

There was also great satisfaction in winning the award for best packaging, designed to give greater visual appeal to shoe-boxes that are often used as a design element within the more technical outdoor stores, where little warehouse space is available. The packaging, states Luca Mich, marketing manager of La Sportiva, was created by graphic designer Massimo Ippolito and then followed in-house to optimize insourcing of creative skills.

The recognition reward the company for its efforts in product design (hiking shoes, climbing shoes, outdoor clothing) and in the field of marketing and communication, which in today’s increasingly competitive outdoor sports market makes all the difference.
