ORTOVOX Safety Academy Alpine Climbing

Published by Mountainblog on .

ORTOVOXBavarian outfitter ORTOVOXs SAFETY ACADEMY stands for safety expertise in mountain sports. Eight years after setting it up as an avalanche safety initiative, and many hundreds of training courses later, the Taufkirchen-based company is now turning its attention to the vertical rock face – because here, too, there are also many potential sources of error that could lead to accidents.

In the ALPINE SUMMER COURSES, participants learn alpine climbing from scratch. In our intensive courses, our professional mountain guides teach course participants tour planning, knotting and securing techniques, belaying and rapelling. To convey the relevant climbing knowledge, ORTOVOX COOPERATES with around 30 international mountaineering schools and offers climbing courses IN THE GERMAN ALPS, IN AUSTRIA AND IN ITALY. The prerequisites for participation are the mastery of securing techniques and experience of lead climbing at grade 5.

With its avalanche courses, the SAFETY ACADEMY has been the world’s largest avalanche prevention training initiative for many years. This summer its offering has been expanded. THE AIM of the alpine climbing courses: Safety and routine for your first solo tour (Basic) or preparation for multi-rope routes on the rock face (Advanced).
