VAUDE
Summer Shirt
Summer 2017

The new Urban Life Collection for Summer 2017 from the outdoor outfitter VAUDE is presented in lightweight and casual looks. Breezy, fresh designs combined with functional fabrics made from fast-drying Tencel and organic cotton make a stylish statement for a sustainable, modern lifestyle – float through the hot days of summer feeling cool and relaxed.

At VAUDE, sustainability is demonstrated by high product quality – and the correlating long service life of the product – as well as by the use of resource conserving raw materials such as organic cotton, linen, cellulose fiber and blends with recycled materials.

Prime climate: quick drying women’s shirts with TENCEL®

This summer, VAUDE is relying on the functional fiber Tencel made from the natural raw material cellulose in its blouses and shirts. This silky soft fabric is perfect for lightweight summer styles and ensures a high level of breezy comfort. Fast drying time and antibacterial, lightweight cooling properties are another argument for Tencel fabrics, making it just the right choice for hot weather – and a prime climate balance!

Environmentally-friendly production in Europe

Almost all models from the Urban Life Collection bear the VAUDE Green Shape guarantee in Made in Europe quality – with short transportation routes. So these shirts and pants are not only good for your own personal feel-good microclimate (thanks to the functional fiber-mix); they also present a clean environmental balance.

TENCEL® Lyocell – making clothing from trees

TENCEL® is a natural fiber made from the raw material cellulose from eucalyptus or beech wood pulp. This type of wood is particularly sustainable and is grown on FSC-certified wood farms. TENCEL® fabrics have a silky soft drape, are lightweight and comfortable and have a natural antibacterial effect. Compared to synthetic fibers, Tencel® features better moisture management due the unique fibril structure that distributes moisture evenly. In addition, it is an excellent choice for people with allergies, is exceptionally strong and durable. Textiles from TENCEL® are more absorbent than cotton, softer than silk and cooler than linen.

The unique closed loop process makes TENCEL® the fiber of the future since the solvent used is recycled by almost 100% in the closed loop process. This special process received the “European Award for the Environment” from the European Union.
