TRAILAB: New Challenge for Ferrino

Published by Mountainblog on .

ferrino

A project to produce an ever more complete and high-performance line of products for Trail Running. An opportunity for all Trail Runners to test the Ferrino equipment and actively participate in its development.

Ferrino TRAILAB was born as a natural evolution of the twenty years’ experience of Ferrino HighLab, the laboratory for materials testing at the Quintino Sella refuge at 3585 m on Monte Rosa.

TRAILAB wants to be the meeting point between the company and end users, giving them the chance to test, evaluate and actively participate in the improvement of Ferrino products dedicated to trail running.

The aim of this project is twofold. On the one hand, letting athletes know the available technologies and the techniques for use of the products thanks to the partnership established with the Mandala Trail group. On the other, knowing how to listen to the real needs of athletes through the valuable feedback during and after use of the materials.

The first field test for TRAILAB will be at the stages of the Mountain Trail Tor Experience where backpacks, pouches, sticks, clothing and other Ferrino materials and accessories will be available for use and testing by participants. The Mandala Trail guides will advise athletes on use of the various products according to their abilities, the soil characteristics, the length and the altitude gain of the route and the weather conditions, so that they can tackle the different stages in safety and without overloading themselves.

Mountain Trail Tor Experience was born with the aim of giving all fans of trail running the chance to improve their technical knowledge and preparation before taking on trails in the high mountains. The stages will be led by the trail-running guides of Mandala Trail and small groups will be formed so that each participant can face the magnificent trails of the High Routes at their own pace. The High Routes of the Valle d’Aosta are a natural gym for acclimatising to the paths in the high mountains, thanks to the excellent condition of the trails and the extremely high altitudes (including some over 3000 m). The Monte Rosa, Mont Blanc, Matterhorn and Gran Paradiso mountain groups will be the perfect backdrop to make the experience even more stimulating.

Thanks to the collaboration with the technical partner Ferrino, all participants will be involved in the TRAILAB project and will be able to test technical products designed specifically for trail running such as backpacks, sticks and technical clothing.
