Inov8: With innovative Polartec® Alpha® insulation, the men’s AT/C Thermoshell [pictured, black] from Inov8 delivers lightweight, packable warmth with superior breathability. Perfect for running in changeable, cool conditions and through different phases of physical activity Polartec® Alpha® will provide active insulation whilst offering exceptional breathability.

Mammut: The Aconcagua Light ML Jacket [pictured, green] uses Polartec® Power Grid™, a Bluesign approved fabric with UPF 50+.  Thanks to Polartec® Power Grid™ the jacket has superior wicking capabilities and the grid channels reduce weight whilst increasing warmth.  This jacket is fast drying, highly breathable, lightweight with easy care properties making it the ideal mid layer.

Mountain Equipment: Using Polartec’s latest base layer technology – Delta – Mountain Equipment is launching the Izoard short-sleeve Polo top [pictured, blue]. Perfect for trekking in hot climates, this lightweight and superfast drying polo is essential warm weather kit. Polartec® Delta™ uses a combination of natural yarns and synthetic fibres. Cotton offers immediate and long term cooling ability and synthetics deliver fast dry time and reduced wet cling.

Montane: The new Venom Hoodie [men]; Viper Hoodie [women] uses the highly versatile Polartec® Thermal Pro® fabric for lightweight versatility. Delivering a great warmth-to-weight ratio, this mid-weight fleece is fast drying offering superb stretch throughout. Features include articulated sleeves and two brushed micro fleece-lined hand pockets.

Outdoor Research: Another brand to capitalise on Polartec’s latest development in base layer technology, Outdoor Research’s Gauge sleeveless tee [men] and Gauge SS Tee [women] uses Polartec® Delta™. The ultimate top for training in hot climes, this tee is designed to cool as well as cotton and dry like a synthetic fabric thanks to its unique, woven construction.

A journey behind the scenes to tell you how to prepare yourself for a competition like the Mezzalama Trophy and find out what lies behind behind the development of the Dynafit Mezzalama collection in Polartec Alpha. This ISPO, Polartec® will be showing the latest and greatest garments using award-winning Polartec® Alpha on-the-go warmth. Polartec® Power Wool™ continues to gain momentum – check out Mammut and Rottefella – whilst thermal insulation makes a welcome appearance in the Berghaus, Norrona and Picture ranges. Polartec® Alpha and Alpha Direct is going from strength-to-strength with Adidas, Black Crows, Dynafit, Marmot, Montane, Rab and Vaude all launching new pieces.

ROTTEFELLA Dynamic Half-Zip:
This is a first layer garment for high activity levels using Polartec® PowerWool®. A mix of wool and synthetic fibres, PowerWool® is a durable fabric with natural odour resistance, adding comfort and retaining insulation and breathability even when wet. This layer provides the perfect balance between insulation and bulk, keeping you warm while not restricting your mobility. The garment also provides ventilation through your layers with rear ventilation panels and breathable fabrics.

VAUDE Pro Insulation Jacket: This insulating cycle jacket uses Polartec® Alpha®, which is perfect for the active wearer. The jacket is warm, wind and water resistant, and breathable with stretch inserts for freedom of movement. Features include: articulated sleeves; slim supportive cut; low cut back with gripper hem; two side pockets; two back pockets; front zip with fold over; ventilation through front pockets; reflective elements. BERGHAUS Cold Climbs Jacket: Versatile, robust and warm, the Cold Climbs Jacket is great for cold Scottish mountain gullies or ice climbing in alpine valleys. DYNAFIT Mezzalama Polartec® Alpha® Jacket: Part of the Mezzalama range which consists of jackets, pants, vests and a skirt, this new addition uses Polartec® Alpha® insulation for on-the-go-warmth and is the lightest, most breathable jacket in the entire range. The jacket is also wind resistant, water repellent and abrasion resistant. Features include: hybrid construction; elasticated cuffs; stow pocket; thumbhole; reflector stripe.

PICTURE Origin Jacket: This jacket uses Polartec® Thermal Pro®, which helps regulate your body’s temperature, keeping you comfortable in all weathers for a range of activities. Used as part of a layering system, the Origin is a mid layer and can be combined with a baselayer and shell to provide protection in the worst weather conditions. Alberto Contador Foundation Presents

This week the Spanish Professional Cyclist, Alberto Contadorlaunched the rh+ Polartec Junior and Under 23 Team during a press conference in Madrid at the Spanish Ministry for Sport and Culture. Supported by the Alberto Contador Foundation, which is now in its fourth year, the teams bear a new brand sponsorship pairing: gear supplier rh+ – famed for high quality casual, competition wear, helmets and goggles; and Polartec – cutting-edge, technical fabric manufacturer.

At the press conference, Contador outlined the team’s ambitions, and did nothing to hide the fact that they aim to go professional in 2017. They also intend to expand their presence by racing in the US later this year. The partnership with rh+ and Polartec® has broadened the horizons of the team, which is managed by Contador’s bother, Francisco. (more…)
