Challenger 28 – a backpack for modern Mountaineering and Skitouring
The Challenger 28 was developed for modern mountaineering, long multi-pitch routes, and ski touring, offering maximum versatility without compromising on lightness and reliability. The tubular design with roll closure and top access allows the volume to be quickly expanded from 28 to 32 liters, so the backpack can be adapted to the load and type of tour. The system can be closed from the top and compressed with removable side straps, ensuring stability even when the backpack is not fully loaded.
Innovative sturdiness
The PFAS-free Challenge Sailcloth™ Ultra fabric guarantees high abrasion resistance while ensuring high durability when in contact with rocks, ice, and snow, without compromising on lightness. This material is waterproof up to 200 psi and designed to maintain its performance regardless of temperature and weather conditions, making it suitable for even the toughest use. The backpack has been equipped with a combination of Ultra 400 and Ultra 200 to provide maximum functionality where it is needed.
Innovative versatility
The internal structure is designed for technical outdoor use. The backpack has separate compartments in which equipment can be organized functionally. Side access is facilitated by a water-repellent zipper, while an additional internal zipper allows access to the main compartment from inside the backpack.
The Challenger 28 can be adapted to different activities using adjustable and removable components, allowing all the necessary equipment to be transported: ice axes, poles, helmets, ropes, and skis—everything has its designated place.
The thermoformed back panel with removable structural insert provides support under increased loads, while adjustable shoulder straps and a hip belt with double-D buckle, equipped with padded and removable waist straps, ensure effective weight distribution. A chest strap with safety whistle and an inner pocket for smaller items round off the features.
