ARC’TERYX Ceres Jacket: a Workhorse for Warmth

Published by Mountainblog on .

Nueva imagenNew from ARC’TERYX for Fall 2014, the Ceres Jacket tackles harsh winter conditions with thoughtful Arc’teryx design and meticulous craftsmanship. “Gold Winner” of an ISPO OUTDOOR Award 2014 for Outdoor Outer Layer Down!

Premium 850 fill power European grey goose down provides the most warmth per weight of any insulation material. It is combined with CoreloftTM, which is strategically placed at the chest pocket, windflap around the front zipper and the edge of the hood. To maximize consistent loft and minimize cold spots at the baffles’ seams the Ceres Jacket uses box wall construction. Elegant tuck stitching hides the seams from the outside, protecting them from wear and snags.

Vislon front zipper holds firm and can be unzipped from the bottom to access internal pockets with minimal heat loss. Adjustable waist and hem drawcords and an elasticated bottom baffle seal out the cold while the down insulated and helmet compatible Storm Hood™ cinches warm and tight. . The insulated chest pocket (men’s) is easily accessible and helps keep smartphones from freezing. The cut is full, allowing room for multiple layers.

Hardwearing, entirely windproof, weather-resistant N40p WINDSTOPPER® outer fabric protects from the gusts and snow. The fabric’s high level of breathability helps prevent the accumulation of moisture that can negatively impact the down’s insulating performance.

For the cold, dry depths of winter, the Ceres Jacket is a workhorse for warmth.
