logo_munichThe European OutDoor Conservation Association (EOCA) is celebrating several successes at ISPO this year. Eight new members were welcomed to the association, and over €8000 was raised for conservation during the 4 days of the show.

EOCA was delighted to welcome Kamik, CAMP, Kayland, Edelrid, and Rewoolution who all signed up during the tradeshow to join the increasing number of European outdoor companies working together to fund conservation in the great outdoors. The British Mountaineering Council (BMC) signed up as EOCA set off for the show, and as the dust settled following the show, Ternua and Peoplework also signed up for membership.

Managing Director at the retail trainer Don Gladstone said ‘the Association has a proven record in effectively delivering excellent support to NGO’s and environmental organisations and Paperwork is proud to be able to support these bodies through EOCA.’ Eddy Codega from CAMP, which has just celebrated its 125th year of trading added ‘We are delighted to be able to fund the conservation of spaces our customers visit through our membership of EOCA. By working with like-‐minded companies, we can make a real difference to threatened wild areas’.

On the Monday evening EOCA held a Happy Hour and Gear Sale on their stand. The Association was delighted that the stand was full of EOCA members old and new! Gear generously donated and sold during the hour by members Klean Kanteen, Bergans of Norway and Patagonia raised a tremendous €2,300 for the Association.

The Smartwool sock vending machine proved very popular during the show, raising nearly €2,000 for EOCA. Gear sold on the Association’s stand, kindly donated by Contigo, Deuter, Polartec, OMM and Vaude was also very popular and raised many more Euros for EOCA to spend on conservation. ISPO tradefair itself collected money at their Snow, Ice and Rock Summit Bar, generously donated by visitors enjoying free beer and snacks. They raised €1000 for the Association during the show, meaning that in total, EOCA raised over €8000 during the event in Munich.

Catherine Savidge, Joint General Manager of EOCA said ‘ ISPO was a very successful show for us this year. As well as existing members demonstrating and pledging their further support for the Association, we were delighted to welcome so many new members. All of the money we raised can now be put into the conservation projects which the public and our members choose for us to fund this year. It will make a real difference to the conservation of wildlife and habitats in areas enjoyed by outdoor enthusiasts.’
