Garmont® on top of innovation for Spring/Summer 2018

Following the successful sell-in results of the first full Fall/Winter collection launched for 2017/18, Garmont continues its strong momentum and commitment to innovation with the introduction of three news projects in the Approach, Active Escape and Active Travel categories.
“Strong on the success of our Fall/Winter collection and thanks to our constant dedication to product research and development, we are introducing two new technologies and 17 new styles, proving that Garmont keeps on investing in product development, which is what clearly identified us also in the past” said Marco Sancandi, Director of Operations of Garmont International. “The new collection will first launch to the trade at the Grassroots Outdoor Alliance– GOA – in Albuquerque, USA ( 14th -16th June), followed by OutDoor Friedrichshafen in Germany (18th-21st June, stand A1-205).”

Sticky collection – Stick with it!
Ideal for the climber looking for reliable shoes for fast ascents and descents under a light load. Precise footing when climbing, yet comfortable and well cushioned for the descent thanks to its innovative construction and Vibram® Extended sole with Megagrip. The Sticky collection features the new Double Damper technology for superior shock absorption. This two-part system features an EVA midsole that dampens ground impact and an internal layer of EVA that dampens heel impact. The inner layer is more anatomical in the heel and midfoot areas to help reduce foot movement within the shoe, adding greater comfort and stability overall. The Sticky collection also include the new erGo-last anatomical last. The contours of this anatomical last are smooth and rounded to more closely follow the shape of the human foot. Footwear built on this last wrap the foot better, especially the heel and bottom of the foot, for a more comfortable, ergonomic fit.
The new Vibram® Extended outsole wraps the EVA midsole, heel and toe areas for great foot protection and grip while the Megagrip compound offers unparalleled grip on wet and dry surfaces. Ideal for via ferrata, bouldering and approach, the Sticky collection presents three models – Sticky Stone GTX®, Sticky Stone and Sticky Cloud – with different color versions for Men and Women.

9.81 collection – Free Trail
The second new project regards the Active Escape category and the 9.81 range. Three new models are introduced for SS18: 9.81 Grid M/W, 9.81 Fast M/W and 9.81 Track GTX® M/W.
Designed for Free Trail, these shoes are ideal for long distance routes and extended training sessions due to the design of the Michelin® outsole and to the protective upper.
Thanks to the shoe volume which delivers comfort and safety on uneven terrain and mountain trails, the 9.81 Grid is perfect for covering long distances. The innovative seamless PU overlay comfortably wraps the foot while strengthening the upper for extra protection and structure, providing a stable and precise running experience, while the mesh fabric enhances breathability. The special film that wraps the EVA in the midsole offers exceptional cushioning. The durable Michelin® Free Cross outsole presents deep and aggressive lugs for superb grip.
The new 9.81 shoes include also the 9.81 Fast and the 9.81 Track GTX®. The 9.81 Fast, due to the light but protected upper is ideal for fast paced and short distances; the 9.81 Track GTX® features a GORE-TEX® lining and is an all-round shoe, perfect for fast activities on different and uneven terrains.

Tikal – A new companion for the World Traveller!
Designed for the active consumer looking for a comfortable shoe with a modern design and a fresh natural feel thanks to the construction materials, this is an ideal shoe for trail walks, travel and everyday leisure time activities.
The upper features one-piece reversed full grain leather, where the unsplit hide is used with the flesh side facing out. The grain side is used as the lining for an unparalleled feeling of comfort and breathability. This is coupled with a cork lasting board and a cotton-lined coconut hair footbed; the combined result is exceptional breathability making the Tikal an ideal choice for travel or leisure time activities.
