Garmont‘s change of pace is evident and is confirmed with the Spring-Summer 2024 collection which will be presented at OutDoor by ISPO. The German trade fair is an international opportunity to showcase the highlights of the upcoming collection, including the Dragontail Tech Geo shoe, winner of an ISPO Award 2023.

Taking place at the beginning of June, the OutDoor by ISPO tradeshow is an international platform for the outdoor industry at which Garmont will be presenting the highlights of its Spring-Summer 2024 collection, including the new Dragontail Tech Geo shoe, winner of an ISPO Award 2023.

Garmont is in a process of transition, a journey that began some time ago and the brand’s desire to develop footwear with a lower environmental impact is beginning to take shape with its partners and the general public. Geared toward the more technical and demanding hiker, the Italian brand has evolved to meet the new demands of the outdoor consumer who seeks comfort, lightness and versatility, drivers that have guided the company in the creation of its 2023 and 2024 collections. Sustainability is an additional driver, a fundamental pillar for Garmont in the development of all its new projects.

Based on this process of renewal, the 2023 ISPO Award winning Dragontail Tech Geo was created: a new, improved and more responsible version of one of Garmont’s best sellers, the Dragontail Tech. Same performance, lower impact on the environment: that was the goal Garmont set itself when it decided to rethink one of its most iconic models.  The process began with breaking down the previous model into its single components to try to find a more eco-friendly alternative.

Ideal for hiking, approach and via ferrata, the new Dragontail Tech Geo has a 28.8% lower environmental impact in terms of CO2 emissions compared to the original version (10.4 KgCO2 vs 14.6 Kg CO2). A responsible choice, realized in partnership with the company ACBC, the first B-Corp certified footwear brand in Italy, to scientifically calculate the carbon footprint.

The upper is made of ACBC FreeBioTM Microfiber, a certified responsible material that combines recycled yarns with natural materials, resulting in 79% responsible input. This low-cut shoe is reinforced laterally with protective rands made of 30% recycled polyamide. These elements are further complemented with an improved Heel Lock system, asymmetrical lacing to better adapt to the conformation of the foot, and more room at the toe box for a high level of comfort even during extended use.

The Ortholite® RecycledTM footbed, made with 98% recycled material, provides durability and cushioning. The dual-density EVA midsole, with 50% bio-based material derived from sugarcane, provides support and comfort. The Michelin® Off Road outsole, made exclusively for Garmont, uses a Hybrid compound with 37.5% recycled rubber.

The Dragontail Tech Geo will be available in an air blue/dove grey colourway for men and an earth brown/parchment white colourway for women at a recommended retail price of 180,00 Euro.
