The 19th March marks the start of the online competition “GET VERTICAL”, where SALEWA, the brand leader in mountaineering clothing and equipment, will offer 100 lucky winners the chance to enjoy a vertical adventure amidst the mountains of the Alps or in Australia. The present day is defined by an urban way of life. The pace of city life increasingly picks up and we are forced to push ourselves that bit faster every single day. Appointments and timeframes dominate our day. Against this background, the mountain, for many of us, has become a place where we can put ourselves to the test, lead our very own path and find ourselves. SALEWA, mountain sports specialist, invites you to discover the ultimate from life offering the opportunity to win a base camp experience across the summits of the Alps or an adventure trip in the Australian Outback.

It is easy to participate. Simply go to the microsite, register and respond to some questions to be in with a chance of passing the selection process. A panel of judges will select weekly prize winners (SALEWA clothing and experience drives of the BMW Series 2 Active Tourer or the new BMW Series 2 Gran Tourer), and the winners of the Alps base camp experience and the Australian adventure. This is where the fun starts.


The winners selected for the base camp at altitude experience will be invited, based upon ability level and personal preferences to one of four partner locations of the competition: Chamonix-Mont-Blanc (France), Zugspitz Arena Bayern-Tirol (Germany/Austria), Grindelwald (Switzerland) and Alta Badia (Italy). Dependent on the location, SALEWA will accompany the winners on the quest to discover the heights of Alpine climbing, the emotions bestowed by the iron road (protected climbing route), spending the nights in a tent, right under the stars.

The winners of the Australia adventure trip will, along with SALEWA and Tourism Australia, discover the most adventurous side of the new continent: divided up into five groups, they will visit various destinations (Fraser Island in Queensland, the Red Centre in the Northern Territory, the Great Ocean Walk in Victoria, Kangaroo Island, the enclosure-free zoo in South Australia and the splendid coast of Western Australia) before hitting Sydney to ascend the famous Harbour Bridge.

The SALEWA competition, which runs from the 19th March until the 13th May 2015, involves the support of prestigious brands such as BMW, Tourism Australia, Vibram®, GORE-TEX®, Polygiene®, Cathay Pacific Airways, Goal Zero and Trail Me Up.
