ISPO1928-2018: 90 years of innovation with passion, thus opens the new year for the company from Trentino, with an eye on the 23rd of May, the official date of the celebrations to mark to company’s 90th anniversary that will take place in the city of Trento with events and celebrations starting at the Muse Science Museum and extending to the centre of town: protagonists of the event will be the athletes that have helped make the La Sportiva Brand world famous, from Manolo to Adam Ondra including Simone Moro, Anton Krupicka, Tamara Lunger with many other guests and surprises in store. The mountains will descend to the city for a full day of events in close contact with the territory and which will underline the values that have always distinguished the brand: passion and innovation.

The first official appointment of the New Year is at the end of January at the ISPO Munich Trade fair, an event at the start of the season in which La Sportiva will present the new FW18/19 collection to its b2b channels. And there will be no lack of innovations starting from the Winter Apparel collection, which is enriched with important technologies and partnerships. Research and Development, functionality and aesthetics: the company mission applied to clothing is summarized in these concepts: technological solutions go hand in hand with functional aesthetics. Thus the concept of the FW18/19 collection is summarized with the expression: VALUABLE AESTHETICS: because each element has been designed to provide added value to the consumer during physical activity. There are three particularly innovative solutions, those applied to the new product concepts.:

  • Adaptation: removable inserts that absorb moisture during physical exercise and which can be removed as needed during activity
  • Storage: solutions compatible with integrated hydration systems
  • Connection: a simply but effective system for connecting jackets and pants while maximizing protection for the wearer.

But that’s not all, the collection which is structured on three layers and includes items for ski mountaineering, winter running and climbing in the winter months, introduces a range of second layer garments made, for the first time, with the innovative, abrasion resistant Tech Stretch Storm fabric and uses ingredient technologies such as Gore-Tex Windstopper for the outer layers.

The footwear collection sees the introduction of three new products: Lycan GTX, a versatile trail running shoe for the winter, Trango Tower Extreme GTX, a thermal mountaineering boot, part of the famous Trango family and Geckogym Rental, a climbing shoe specifically designed for indoor use in gyms but widely spreading in urban areas too.

The Hard goods sector has also been completely updated with the introduction of Racetron, a ski mountaineering boot in Grilamid® designed young athletes and newcomers to the international competition scene. The perfect alternative to traditional race boots in composite materials, Racetron adopts innovative Race-Ready solutions and technologies. New and exiting technologies for the world of ski touring too, with the introduction of Solar and Stellar, two ski boots dedicated to all round ski mountaineering designed to meet the needs of the hiker in the downhill phase too with the “Easy 2 Wear” technology, compatible with Skitrab Tr2 safety bindings and the brand new patented Swing-Lock Closure System, a ski&walk mechanism that protects the mechanical parts from usage and abrasion.

A wealth of novelties and innovation from the Trentino brand always striving to provide sustainability-oriented innovation and the best products for mountain enthusiasts, as demonstrated by the recent release of the company’s first social report, available in the CSR section of the lasportiva.com corporate website

Innovation, passion, tradition, constant research. Since 1928.
