The seventh annual European Outdoor Summit (EOS) is just over a month away, so if you haven’t yet registered for the European outdoor industry event of the year, now is the time to book.  REGISTER HERE

The EOS brings together around 300 high calibre leaders in the outdoor industry from across Europe and beyond, with delegates from Schöffel, Osprey, Skogstad, Lowa, PrimaLoft, Ferrino, Ecco, Vaude, SCARPA and Buff – to name a few – already booked.  Join them now!

Taking place from 26th to 27th September 2019 at the Congress Centre, Kursaal Interlaken Switzerland, this year’s EOS will focus on the theme: The Outdoor Industry – Redefining Boundaries, with subjects  including a rich mix of inspirational and informative presentations from experts both within and outside of the outdoor gear industry, touching on topics such as social innovation, biotechnology, global sharing, industry case studies and forging new collaborations.  See the latest agenda HERE

Joining this year’s exciting line-up of speakers are Client Partner for Foresight Factory, Pippa Goodman, Sustainability Specialist for Oberlap, Marta Pellegrino and Head of Marketing for myclimate, Kai Landwehr.

Pippa Goodman presents the keynote: The Changing Boundaries of Engagement. The boundaries for engagement with consumers are shifting, again. As they begin to place a value on their own physical presence that is similar to time or money, consumers are becoming more selective about the places / leisure activities / stores that they choose to engage with in person. Will it be worth their while in terms of meeting personal needs, resources, values and, crucially, expectations of reward?

As the potential returns of being present are assessed more explicitly by consumers, the metrics for reward are also changing. Customers now expect to be rewarded beyond just spend; instead, they want to be recognised for store visits, brand advocacy, data sharing. Brands must gear up for a future where they will be evaluated increasingly for how they can engage the customer in novel, intriguing and ultimately rewarding ways. Introducing a strategic approach for a sustainable business begins with a comprehensive overview of existing processes and their environmental footprint. With their breakout presentation: Partnering for a More Sustainable Business, Marta Pelligrino and Kai Landwehr will demonstrate how Oberlap – the parent company for Salewa, Dynafit, Pomoca and Wild Country – has taken their environmental management to the next level by working with myclimate to monitor and assess their corporate carbon footprint year by year.

Oberalp has implemented the myclimate smart three platform solution, which helps to give the company an overview of its impact, keep track of trends over time and identify criticalities that need to be improved. Taking the biggest advantage out of the collected data is still both, a challenge and an opportunity for more ecological and economical success. The speakers will give insights on the unexpected challenges, the first learnings and the following measures. See more about Marta and Oberlap HERE and Kai and myclimate HERE

Offering excellent value for money, the EOS delegate place costs just €650.  In addition to a full programme of presentations, the EOS rate also includes a Networking Evening, which this year is a barbeque event and takes place on Thursday 26th September.  During the evening, Kendal Mountain Festival will share some inspirational adventure films from past festivals. For those wanting to keep the night going there will be free casino tokens provided to make use of in the on-site Casino Interlaken.
