DYNAFIT
Hoji Free Ski Touring Boot
Winter 2019.20

The award-winning Hoji Pro Tour ski touring boot has gained a sibling: Mountain endurance specialist DYNAFIT for winter 2019-20 is launching the Hoji Free – a ski touring boot that will take free touring to a new level. With its increased rigidity, a narrower fit and the customisable Hoji Free Liner from boot-fitting specialist Sidas, the Hoji Free will be the first choice for ski touring enthusiasts who focus in particular on first-class downhill performance. Powder hounds won’t forgo uphill comfort and freedom of movement, however. The boot is compatible with alpine ski bindings, in accordance with DIN ISO 9523 and therefore especially versatile. When it comes to other technical special features, developers have put their trust in the tried-and-tested characteristics of the Hoji Pro Tour: Thanks to the Hoji Lock System, cuff and shell are integrated into one cohesive unit. Using a technically intelligent cable system, the ski/walk system’s mechanism is integrated with the buckles and the Ultra Lock Strap. Just one quick hand motion saves mucking around, and the boot transforms from an efficient, lightweight climber into a powder specialist with the sensation of high-end skiing and optimum power transfer. “The ski touring boot revolution” – This was the promise from mountain endurance expert DYNAFIT in winter 2018-19 with the Hoji Pro Tour, the first ski touring boot on the market that made no compromises and is just as impressive on the climb as it is in its downhill performance. The market has been enthusiastic in its response: The Hoji Pro Tour has earned the ISPO Gold Award, among others, as well as acclaim from Freeskier, Backcountry and Powder magazines
plus from GearJunkie. For free tourers who focus on descents in champagne powder, Dynafit has gone another step for next winter season. In contrast to the Hoji Pro Tour, the Hoji Free is also compatible with alpine ski bindings with its forward lean and modified heel.

With its increased rigidity, thanks to a unique Grilamid material with fibreglass, and its progressive flex of 130, the Hoji Free possesses all of the characteristics to deliver the best power transfer and top downhill performance. With a last width of 102 mm, three micro-adjustable buckles and the Ultra Lock Strap, the foot sits ideally positioned. In downhill mode, the Hoji Free locks out at a forward lean of 11 or 17 degrees thanks to a spoiler at the cuff that can be taken on and off and thus offers a comfortable, yet still athletic and controlled ski position – be it to press, carve or slash. On the ascent, free tourers also get extra benefits: The V-shaped tongue and a cuff rotation of 55 degrees means maximum freedom of movement, flexibility and comfort. This enables a natural, energy-saving walking motion even on very steep terrain. With its light weight of just 1,550 grams, a few extra metres of extra vertical vert won’t be an issue for the Hoji Free since you’ll still have enough strength left to enjoy a well-earned descent.

One special feature of the Hoji Free is the new thermo-mouldable Hoji Free Liner by footbed, boot-fitting and foot specialty brand Sidas. This will be exclusively available in the coming season in the DYNAFIT Hoji Free. This liner can be custom-moulded to fit your foot and offers the best-possible climbing performance as well as on the descent. It is impressive with its lightness and comfort, and it positions and firmly cradles the foot with precision and security. These characteristics make the liner the first choice for the Hoji Free and underscores the unique selling point on the market of this free touring boot. To ensure ski tourers can approach the perfect line over rocks and icy flanks, the Hoji Free comes equipped with the POMOCA Free Sole. This sole has impressive grip and optimal hold when walking out of the binding and at the same time is especially sturdy and long-lasting. Thanks to the toe lug the ski touring boot is compatible with fully automatic crampons. Last but not least, the Hoji Free is also equipped with the proven Quick Step-In insert for easier entry into the frameless tech binding even on rougher terrain. The Hoji Free, just like other models in the Hoji family, is made completely in Italy. Ski hard & walk easy – one move to switch.
