Mountain Rescue Tirol’s mountain guides asked for an insulated ski mountaineering pant, so SALEWA designed the Sesvenna Tirol Wool
Pant. Different materials are combined to deliver the right performance for each area of the body. The resulting hybrid pant protects the upper
legs with locally produced Tirol Wool 60g insulation and the lower legs with technical Durastretch Bambooskin fabric, which also has a PFCfree DWR finish.

Tirol Wool is sourced from Tyrolean mountain sheep; the mountain environment produces a wool with higher insulation properties traditionally used to provide protection by creating a natural microclimate in cold, wet or chilling conditions. Thanks to a special Oxywash treatment the wool becomes softer, odourless, hygroscopic and breathable.

The SALEWA footwear division, established in 2005, is the brand’s youngest division. Nevertheless, in ten years it has been responsible for a number of major product innovations. Take, for example, the Tech Approach product concept, which received several international design
awards. This year, two more footwear products are due to receive an accolade: the Ultra Train GTX mountain training shoe and the Vultur GTX
mountain boot
