Cross-country skiers and runners are invited up onto the Alpe di Siusi: those who complete the Moonlight Classic cross-country ski race and the half-marathon run will be given a special ranking calculated as the total time for the two races.

Cross-country skiing meets running on the Alpe di Siusi plateau, the biggest in Europe. It scarcely matters whether it is snowy white or lush green: it is ideal for those who love endurance sports.

The two outdoor disciplines of cross-country skiing in winter and running in summer will see a sporting event in 2015 that will give them even greater prominence.
All those who complete both the 30 kilometres track of the Moonlight Classic (a cross-country ski race on 4 February 2015) and the Seiser Alm Half-Marathon (a 21-km running race on 5 July 2015) will be entered into the combined Alpe di Siusi Ski & Run ranking with the total of their two race times.

In the words of Alex Andreis, Director of Alpe di Siusi Marketing, “We want to continue to promote our area as the ideal venue for outdoor sports and encourage the crossover between cross-country skiing and running, two disciplines that potentially offer numerous synergies, including in terms of tourism”.

Practitioners of these closely related disciplines can compete in two dedicated competitions the time for the cross-country ski event totalled with the time for the run. The prizes for the winners of this special ranking will be awarded following the half-marathon event.

Running and cross-country skiing are united as endurance disciplines amidst the beautiful scenery of the Alpe di Siusi, a plateau for all seasons.
