Black Diamond Equipment’s 2014-15 Ski Collection Earns Over a Dozen Media Awards

black diamondBlack Diamond Equipment®, a global innovator in climbing, skiing, mountain sports equipment and apparel, has collected over a dozen awards from magazines and online media outlets for this winter’s 2014-15 ski gear, including accolades from: Backcountry, Backpacker, Freeskier, NationalGeographic.com, Powder, Skiing and Wildsnow.com.

“In our 57 years of innovation, the designers, engineers and employees of Black Diamond Equipment have used their firsthand knowledge of climbing, skiing and mountain sports to create next-level products,” said Peter Metcalf, Black Diamond CEO. “Every Black Diamond employee takes pride and shares some credit for the abundance of recognition we’ve received for our forthcoming winter 2014-15 apparel, hard goods and snow safety collections.

JetForce, the first avalanche airbag system to use electronically controlled jet-fan inflation, was awarded “Editor’s Choice 2014-15” by Backpacker and Freeskier magazines. JetForce technology represents Black Diamond’s commitment to the snow safety category and will be available in specific backpacks from Black Diamond Equipment, PIEPS and POC this winter.

NationalGeographic.com honored Black Diamond Apparel’s Hot Forge Eiderdown Jacket with its “2014 Gear of the Year” award.
