The Migu Run Skyrunner® World Series announces an important revamp for 2019 together with the 2018 calendar.

Developed in close consultation with athletes and organisers, the 2019 Vision aims to determine who is the best Skyrunner in the world.
Exit the categories! All races – of distances ranging from 22 to 66km – will count towards a single ranking easy to understand and follow.
The calendar will include approximately 18 Sky races, including four SuperSky races awarding four times the number of points and even greater prize money.

The Season will close with the Sky Masters, a new grand final open only to those athletes who have qualified over the season and who will compete for an end of season bonus pool of 100,000 EUR split between the top ten men and top ten women equally.
The top man and woman will take 15,000 EUR each.

Ragna Debats, contender for the 2017 Overall Ranking says: “Athletes really like these changes as what we love is to compete against the best with intensity on all types of mountain terrain. We Skyrunners consider it our trademark.”

On the road to 2019, the 2018 calendar already shows the trend. It includes 18 races split into two categories: the Sky Classic and the Sky Extra (combining Sky Extremes and Sky Ultras). Five selected races will award an extra 50% bonus points.

“By distributing a 66,000 EUR end of season bonus pool with almost 50% dedicated to the Overall ranking, we pave the way to 2019 and to our firm belief that the Migu Run Skyrunner® World Series will designate THE best skyrunner in the world,” says Peter Worth, Chairman of SkyMan SA, the commissioner of the Series. “We are happy the International Skyrunning Federation (ISF) supports our approach to set the Series as the Series of reference.”

The circuit will open at the end of April in Yading, China and will visit three continents before concluding in Italy in October 2018 where the season’s awards and titles will be presented in a special ceremony.
