DPS SKIES – Cassiar 95: Floaty Frontside Ripper

Published by Mountainblog on .

dps skisFor 14/15 DPS infused new energy into the Cassiar family by introducing the Cassiar 95 – a welcomed addition to the frontside ripping Cassiar collection. It carries over some of the key traits of the award-winning Cassiar 85, yet features an all-mountain waist width and is tuned to lean moderately towards softer snow.

Not every day offers blower pow! The importance of a ski’s specific purpose is paramount, and to master the art you need precise tools for each notch on the terrain-snow spectrum. While DPS is admittedly obsessed with creating special tools for those universe-bending moments atop the snow period, the brand equally cares about skis for average resort days. Long hours spent training on narrow shapes allow skiers to drive powder skis with confidence on big snow days.

The Cassiar 95 revives the commitment to the Cassiar line. Carrying over essential characteristics from the Cassiar 85, it features a slightly higher tip profile, an altered flex profile, and of course, an extra centimetre of width underfoot. It is the floatiest member of the Cassiar family, and an amazing flat-tailed choice for everyday frontside excellence as well as springtime backcountry duty.

The gripping all-mountain performance is mated with DPS’ unique Pure3 layup: the aerospace Carbon+Nano construction provides a refined, powerful ride with more torsional stiffness and more efficiency than any metal laminate ski.
