From 2nd to 20th October 16 of the best mountain photos on display in Brixen

ims2Unique and rugged rocks, imposing peaks, rough glacier moraines – the mountain is in constant motion and throughout its life takes on a multitude of remarkable facets.

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the International Mountain Summit, the IMS Photo Contest presents, in collaboration with the Brixen company Durst, the photographic exhibition “The Spirit of the Mountains. Best of IMS Photo Contest”.

From 2nd to 20th October 2018, impressive images of a pulsating mountain life, captured by the world’s most famous mountain photographers, will be on display at the Stadtgalerie in Brixen. There are 16 shots selected from the many photos that have participated in the last eight years in the photographic contest IMS Photo Contest. From a small side competition at the International Mountain Summit, the IMS Photo Contest has made giant strides, becoming the world’s most renowned photography in and about the mountain. Photographers from all over the world have tried to capture unique moments, breathtaking views in every corner of the globe. Among the photos of the exhibition are represented peaks of almost all continents, from the nearby peaks of the Dolomites and Europe to those on the other side of the globe in Australia, passing through Asia with shots of India and Pakistan, the Americas with the United States and Mexico, not to mention the North with Iceland and Greenland.

imsThe exhibition is curated by the photographer and head of Corporate Design Durst Hermann Pitscheider and the artist and director of the Civic Gallery, Alex Pergher.

The International Mountain Summit is supported by the umbrella brand Südtirol, KIKU, Cassa di Risparmio and Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio, DURST, GORE TEX, Doppelmayr, Brixen and the region Trentino / South Tyrol.
