The European Outdoor Summit 2016 Signs its Third Major Sponsor

Key support secured from BlackYak, while Ternua, Institut Barcelona Esports, CamelBak & Thule sign up as Support sponsors.

The European Outdoor Group (EOG) is pleased to announce BlackYak as the third Major sponsor of the European Outdoor Summit (EOS) 2016, which takes place from 29-30th September at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Barcelona, Spain.

A first-time sponsor of the EOS, Korean mountain clothing brand BlackYak completes the trio of Major sponsors alongside ISPO and W.L Gore & Associates, and is a key addition to the sponsorship line-up. Supported by the sector’s largest brands and organisations and taking place in just under five months, the EOS will see over 300 senior executives within the outdoor industry from across Europe and beyond come together to explore the major issues facing the sector; this year’s theme is ‘AN INDUSTRY IN EVOLUTION’.

BlackYak manufactures high quality technical mountain clothing and equipment used by professional mountaineers and recently won an ISPO Gold award for its innovations. The company is now looking to establish itself globally, with plans in place to expand into America, Japan, China and Hong Kong. BlackYak will launch in Europe later this year. (more…)

EOS 2016 Networking Evening to be Held at Iconic La Fàbrica Moritz

The European Outdoor Group (EOG) is pleased to announce La Fàbrica Moritz, Barcelona as the venue for the new European Outdoor Summit (EOS) 2016 Networking Evening.

The social highlight of the EOS, which this year takes place from 29^th– 30^th September, the new Networking Evening has replaced the traditional gala-style dinner with a more informal occasion; responding to past delegates requests for more time to network.

Taking place on the evening of Thursday 29^th September, the new format social evening perfectly complements Barcelona’s laid-back and vibrant atmosphere and will let delegates eat, drink, mingle and unwind after a busy day of Summit activities.

A superb venue for socialising, La Fàbrica Moritz is the brewery home to Moritz beer, an iconic Catalan brand founded in Barcelona by French immigrant Louis Moritz Trautmann in 1856. After having produced unpasteurised fresh Moritz beer for over 100 years, the company closed its doors in 1978, but in 2004 descendants of the Moritz family resurrected the brand and the old brewery building underwent a €30 million renovation, designed by the award winning French architect, Jean Nouvel. EOS 2015: Two Successful & Inspirational
Days in Sheffield

Following two full days of inspirational presentations and informative seminars and workshops, the organisers of the European Outdoor Summit 2015 (EOS 2015) are pleased to report that the Summit has been a resounding success; attracting huge support from the European outdoor industry and extremely positive feedback from both delegates and speakers.

Taking place from 13^th-15^th October, 2015 in Sheffield – which is promoting itself as ‘The Outdoor Capital City of the UK’ #TheOutdoorCity – the EOS 2015, which was headline sponsored by Berghaus, ISPO and W.L Gore & Associates, hosted over 300 delegates from 20 countries across Europe, as well as the US, China and Canada, and attracted industry bosses, CEOs and directors from manufacturers, retailers, brands and national associations.

Featuring a strong line-up up of industry-relevant speakers, workshops, seminars, activities and social events designed to engage and bring together outdoor industry professionals, the EOS 2015 gave delegates an invaluable opportunity to learn how to better their businesses, as well as network with industry colleagues; making it the perfect platform for the continued development and progress of the outdoor industry.

The Summit started on Wednesday (14^th October) morning with a welcome from CEO of the UK Outdoor Industries Association, Andrew Denton and the EOS’s master of ceremonies Steve McDermott, who compared the event in his distinctive insightful and entertaining manner, which broke the ice and kept delegates engaged throughout the whole event.
