Deputy Director-General for Education and Culture at the European Commission announced as first keynote speaker

his year’s theme is ‘AN INDUSTRY IN EVOLUTION’, considering the pace of change that is altering the industry. The EOS will present delegates with a range of keynote speeches and breakout sessions that focus on building outdoor participation, deal with issues that are changing us, such as technology, supply chains and routes to market, and creating wider societal and business value through thought leadership.
The EOG has pleasure in announcing the first keynote speaker in this year’s line-up; Deputy Director-General for Education and Culture at the European Commission, Jens Nymand Christensen.
Speaking on the huge importance of a physically active population to the nations of Europe and why this is central to policy within his department at the European Commission, he is responsible for education, culture, youth, languages and sport (DG EAC). Jens is Danish, holds an MBA and has worked at the European institutions since 1979, including as a Director in the Commission’s Secretariat-General from 2003-2014, and previously, as Member of Cabinet of Vice-President Henning Christophersen and as Head of Unit for International Food, Veterinary and Phytosanitary questions.
Offering excellent value for money, the early bird delegate place costs just €500, increasing to €600 after 22nd July. In addition to a full programme of speakers, the delegate rate also includes a Networking Tapas Evening, which takes place on Thursday 29th September at the iconic La Fàbrica Moritz microbrewery.
This year there is the option to book accommodation at the Crowne Plaza, however, rooms at the venue are limited and will have to be booked at the same time as the delegate place – B&B Individual rooms cost €175 and B&B double rooms cost €210 (plus 10% VAT).
