After the success of the 2013 ISF ranking, the names of the top 100 men and 50 women in the 2014 SKY discipline are announced.  The ULTRA and VK rankings will follow.

ISF ranking uses a proprietory algorithm, which, as announced at the launch in 2013, will reach completion after three years’ analysis.

In its first year, among the various parameters, the calculation of the points took into account only the presence, or absence, of elite athletes as there were no points available. At the end of 2013, it was possible to use the points of the elite athletes in the 2014 calculation.

In 2014, the points of of the first 30 men and 15 women in each event listed were counted.

The 2014 SKY ranking is based on the results of 21 races disputed in three continents (Europe, N America and Asia).A total of 639 athletes (437 men and 2013 women) from 44 countries were examined.

Heading the men’s and women’s 2014 ISF SKY ranking is the indomitable duo, Kilian Jornet and Emelie Forsberg – based on the aggregation of the two season’s results.

Like last year, the top three men’s positions are headed by Kilian Jornet (ESP), Ionut Zinca (ROU) and Marco De Gasperi (ITA). Another Italian, Tadei Pivk (ITA) takes 4th place among the world’s best, while promising new entry, Manuel Merillas (ESP), takes 5th. Among the new top ten entries, Petro Mamo (ERI) 6th, David Schneider (SUI), 8th and Michel Lanne (FRA), 10th.

In the women’s field, based on just the 2014 results, the first three places go to Stevie Kremer (USA), Elisa Desco (ITA) and Maite Mayora (ESP). After her first position in 2013, Emelie Forsberg (SWE) confirms her talent in the SKY discipline with a 4th place. New entries in the top ten this year include Laura Orguè (ESP), 5h, Kasie Enman (USA), 6th, Silvia Rampazzo (ITA), 7h, Leire Aguirrezabala (ESP), 9h and Victoria Wilkinson (GBR), 10th.
