“4th edition cancelled”

After the failure in carrying out the 4 stages 2020, the organizing committee of La Grande Course has officially cancelled the 4th edition of the ski mountaineering tour competitions which groups the most important and prestigious Alpine and Pyrenean races.

If Altitoy Ternua has been cancelled because of the bad and extreme weather conditions which did not ensure the security for athletes and staff, the stop of Millet Tour du Rutor Extrême, Adamello Ski Raid and Patrouille des Glaciers has been caused by the health emergency due to Coronavirus. “We have a biennial races tour – announced the president of La Grande Course Adriano Favre – Among the planned stages only Pierra Menta and Mezzalama Trophy have been carried out during the last season. This is the reason why we have been obliged to cancel the 4th edition”.

Despite the difficult moment it is necessary to look ahead: “At present Italy and the whole Europe are facing a very difficult and serious moment – continued Favre –. When the health emergency will be over, the executive board of LGC will meet in order to plan and organize the new dates and goals. We are looking for new ideas to make our races tour more spectacular and interesting than ever”.
