Ortovox Equips Avalanche transceivers with Recco reflectors

Starting fall 2013 RECCO REFLECTORS will be integrated in all of our AVALANCHE TRANSCEIVERS. Our common goal together with RECCO is to IMPROVE existing SAFETY STANDARDS and decrease the search time by professional rescuers for avalanche victims. More than 700 ski resorts and rescue organizations worldwide are equipped with RECCO DETECTORS. The integration of RECCO REFLECTORS is for us the ideal complement to the ESSENTIAL RESCUE EQUIPMENT.

IMPROVED CHANCES FOR A SUCCESSFUL SEARCH

Through the integration of Reflectors in all of our avalanche transceivers a buried person receives an additional chance for a quick search, especially with a parallel RECCO and transceiver search (on land as well as from the air). User mistakes can render the best avalanche transceivers useless. For example, when the transceiver is left turned off or when batteries run out. With the RECCO system integration we are offering a possibility to still find victims fast.

 

Simple & effective Back-up solution

The light (4 grams), integrated Reflector is always with you, does not require a power source and does not interfere with the search and limits the risk of human error. RECCO, this way, is the most effective and at the same time cost-efficient back-up solution in case of a secondary avalanche.

Besides the SMART–ANTENNA–TECHNOLOGY™ that automatically analyzes transceiver orientation and switches to the best transmitting antenna, our S1+, 3+ and ZOOM+ are equipped with an AUTOMATIC SWITCHOVER in case of a secondary avalanche. In combination with the integrated RECCO REFLECTOR this helps the user to BE FOUND EASIER.
