Petzl is currently recalling D005AA00 and D005AA01 PIRANA descenders. These descenders were sold from July 2019 to January 2022.

Please read the public communication and immediately follow these instructions:

If you have a PIRANA that is affected by this recall, stop using it immediately and return it to the Petzl after-sales service in your country. You will be offered a refund. Petzl will pay for the return shipping costs. If you know anyone who owns or uses PIRANA descenders, please share this important information with them.
