Saturday, 1st September will see the eleventh edition of the Skyrace organised by the Pro Loco of Zoldo Alto. Registrations to the race will remain open until Sunday 26th August.

For athletes aged 11 and under, wanting to compete, the second edition of the Junior run will be staged.

Ten days away from the actual event, the starting list of the 11th edition of Transpelmo, the skyrace of the Dolomities of the Province of Belluno organised by the Pro Loco of Zoldo Alto, is taking shape. For the 2018 edition of the race, which will take place for the first time on a Saturday (September 1st), some of the main players of last year’s run have already given their support. First and foremost, Luca Cagnati, the Italian mountain runner (world champion of team running in 2015), who won the last two editions of the Transpelmo. Together with Luca, who comes from Canale d’Agordo and will run with bib number 1, there will also be the Trentino-born Daniele Felicetti and Simone Bettega, and three well-known runners from the Belluno area, Gianpietro Barattin (Alpago Tornado Run), Giorgio Dell’Osta (Team Noene) and Elias Costa (Atletica Zoldo).

There are only a few days left to register for the race: registrations will remain open until midnight on Sunday, 26th August. Registrations can be made on the official website of the event: www.transpelmo.com. All participants may take advantage of the services offered to all the athletes during the event (refreshments, showers, health care). All participants will receive a technical shirt as a gift for taking part in the race.

The skyrace will start at 9.30 and will run along an 18-kilometre trail, setting off from and arriving at Palafavèra. The trail has 1300 metres of positive height gain and 1300 negative descent, with the ascent to the Forcella Val d’Arcia as the main highlight of the race.

The day will also offer an event for children: the Transpelmo Junior run. The race, an event dedicated to children aged 11 years and under, will take place on a reduced track near the arrival / departure area of Palafavera and will set off at 09:45. Registrations will be free and will be possible on the morning of the race.
