After seventeen years growing and shaping the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA), General Manager Tanya Kenrick is moving on to pastures new.
Having joined the EOG Association for Conservation, as it was initially known, Tanya was the association’s first employed member of staff, with a blank canvas to develop the organisation. Existing to raise money from the European outdoor sector, to fund urgent conservation work in wild places around the globe, EOCA now employs 4 members of staff and boasts a corporate membership of 130 organisations. It is
currently celebrating having invested over €6 million into 221 vital conservation projects spread across 67 different countries!
“I am sad to be leaving.” said Tanya, “But also immensely proud of what we have achieved to date. I have worked with so many incredible brands, whose passion and enthusiasm to get involved with EOCA, and new ways to raise money for our projects, has never ceased to amaze me. The amazing work we have been able to support has been so inspiring. All our projects have tackled the loss of biodiversity and mitigated climate change, protected and restored wild landscapes, worked with local communities and left lasting, positive legacies”.
Tanya ended by saying, “One of the things that will stay with me is the way we can make a much bigger difference by all working together. EOCA is unique in that it brings an entire sector together, multiplying
what one company could do on its own, and resulting in a much bigger impact. And that is really special.”
ANTJE FEHLING, HEAD OF BEAND SERVICES AT BLUESIGN TECHNOLOGIES AND PRESIDENT OF EOCA
Antje wished Tanya all the very best for the future saying, “ Thank you so much for your 17 invaluable years with EOCA: for your dedication; for staying the course; and for your passion for nature”.
Although she is leaving the association at the end of January, Tanya won’t be leaving the outdoor industry.
Her new role will be as General Manager of the ISPO Impact Foundation, created by Raccoon Media Group, new owners and organisers of ISPO.
