On the last weekend in June, the trail run community should have come together for the adidas Infinite Trails, a very special trail run weekend in the Gastein Valley, Austria, after a year full of limitations and privations.
Under this year’s motto “CELEBRATE THE SPORT“, the organizers want to offer the registered trail runners from around 30 countries a unique racing and team experience in breathtaking nature, in which “time together” is not neglected. Made possible by an extensive and sophisticated Covid-19 prevention and hygiene concept, including an onsite test strategy. Due to the currently uncertain epidemiological situation and the associated risk of a short-term event cancellation by the authorities and of ongoing quarantine requirements upon entry, it has now been decided to move adidas Infinite Trails to the alternative date from 24 to 26 September.
“Hopefully, time will turn to our favour when the vaccination campaigns around the globe pick up speed and travel restrictions are gradually lifted“, said Event Director Mike Hamel and Managing Director of Gasteinertal Tourism Franz Naturner, explaining the decision. “The safety of everyone involved, whether participants, volunteers or crew, is our top priority. The postponement to autumn contributes to this.”
