Last winter, Hanwag exclusively launched the innovative MICHELIN V-ROUGH sole that was developed together with MICHELIN Technical Soles and customized for Hanwag. The MICHELIN V-ROUGH sole successfully transfers the V-shaped tread design from the legendary MICHELIN Alpin 5 winter tyre to a technical footwear sole. It is made of a unique and specially formulated rubber compound that responds perfectly to winter conditions, offering grip, traction and durability for active winter outdoor enthusiasts and urban winter users. This is why every single model in the Hanwag Active Winter Collection combines high functionality with a design suitable for everyday use. Fall / Winter 2018/19 sees the MICHELIN V-ROUGH sole in use on the popular ANVIK GTX and AOTEA GTX® and all further models in the Hanwag Active Winter Collection.
How does the MICHELIN V-ROUGH sole work? The MICHELIN V-ROUGH sole is all about combining the perfect tread with the optimal rubber compound. Its MICHELIN Winter Compound (WIC) uses soft, non-slip rubber that offers good grip and exceptionally good abrasion resistance. In addition, the MICHELIN V-ROUGH sole profile has special V-shaped, interlocked and siped tread blocks for winter performance. The siping at the heel and toe provides improved adherence during toe-off and heel strike and – in combination with the full midsole – maximum stability and control in winter conditions. All in all, the tread design successfully transfers the benefits of the V-shape profile of the legendary MICHELIN Alpin 5 winter tyre. Exclusively available in the Hanwag Active Winter Collection, this exceptional sole offers enhanced traction and adherence and is also self-cleaning and hard-wearing.
HANWAG ANROS ES Designed for sustainability and active use on cold winter days around town and on trails. This innovative and multifunctional modern winter boot is waterproof, breathable and sustainable thanks to its Eco-Shell Footwear membrane. During production, no fluorinated chemicals are used and the warm lining is made of 100% recycled polyester. With its StraightFit, the ANROS ES provides extra room in the toe box for additional comfort. Equipped with a MICHELIN V-ROUGH sole, it guarantees grip and traction on slush and snow. And the high-quality nubuck leather upper and cemented construction ensure that the ANROS ES is particularly long-lasting and resoleable. As with all Hanwag footwear, the ANROS ES is made exclusively in Europe.
HANWAG SAISA MID LADY ES
Sporty styling for everyday use in fall and winter. This mid-cut women’s boot is waterproof, breathable and sustainable. Due to its Eco-Shell Footwear membrane, the SAISA MID LADY ES can be made without using any fluorinated chemicals. In addition, it has a warm lining made of 100% recycled polyester. Equipped with a MICHELIN V-ROUGH sole, it guarantees grip and traction on uneven terrain, slush and snow. The SAISA MID LADY ES is ideal for urban winter use. Thanks to its cemented construction it is resoleable and particularly long-lasting. As with all Hanwag footwear, the SAISA MID LADY ES is made exclusively in Europe.
HANWAG PULJA LADY ES Where style and functionality meet sustainability. This elegant women’s boot has an innovative Eco-Shell Footwear membrane, which means that it is made 100% without fluorochemicals and is still reliably waterproof and breathable. In addition, it has a warm lining made of 100% recycled polyester. Equipped with a MICHELIN V-ROUGH sole, it guarantees grip and traction on uneven terrain, slush and snow. The PULJA LADY ES is made of high-quality nubuck leather and robust fabric. Thanks to its cemented construction it is resoleable and particularly long-lasting. As with all Hanwag footwear, the PULJA LADY ES is made exclusively in Europe.
HANWAG SAISA HIGH LADY ES No compromises when it comes to sustainability. This women’s winter boot has a casual design and full functionality. Due to its innovative Eco-Shell Footwear membrane, the waterproof and breathable SAISA MID LADY ES can be made without using any fluorinated chemicals. In addition, it has a warm lining made of 100% recycled polyester. Equipped with a MICHELIN V-ROUGH sole, it guarantees grip and traction on uneven terrain, slush and snow. The side zip ensures an easy on and off, while the lacing allows the perfect individual fit. Thanks to its cemented construction, the SAISA HIGH LADY ES is fully resoleable and is a pleasure to wear for long periods out on cold and snowy days, or shorter winter walks. Climbers and other outdoor athletes like to show their connection to mountain sports in climbing circles and in everyday life, too. The Hueco Advanced Mid GTX makes a good impression in both worlds. Featuring a mid-cut shaft, it is inspired by climbing shoes and is suitable for both everyday urban adventures and light approaches. The Michelin sole is made from a very grippy outdoor compound rubber, which ensures good footing on a wide range of surfaces. The TPU heel stabilizer ensures optimum hold for the heel. The water- and windproof, breathable GORE-TEX Performance Comfort Footwear keeps moisture out and creates a pleasant foot climate. The pre-shaped tongue construction and cushioned Strobel construction make the shoe even more comfortable.
