ISPO: French Brands Off to Conquer New Markets! Interview with Benjamin Thaller

Published by Mountainblog on .

ISPO Munich, the largest trade show in Europe for the winter sports, outdoor sports, and sports fashion markets, took place from January 26 to 29, 2020. Twenty-nine French brands benefited from trade show support provided by the, “Camp de Base,” managed by Outdoor Sports Valley with support from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region and EuroSIMA. Their goal from the outset was clear: meet with retailers, distributors, and journalists to expand their business and explore new markets. This year support services included a press area within the “Camp de Base” common booth space as well as pre-planned meetings with stakeholders from key export markets.

3 GREAT REASONS FOR FRENCH BRANDS TO ATTEND ISPO!

  • Grow their business and expand their network. ISPO represents the most important trade show of the year for the European winter and outdoor sports industry, with the key brands and stakeholders in attendance. It offers the ideal platform to make new contacts and generate new business in export markets.
  • Identify the latest trends and get an overall market view. While brands took full advantage of ISPO to present their latest product ranges and innovations, the four-day trade show also included several events and conferences covering the latest news and trends in the industry.
  • Taking advantage of a turnkey solution to exhibit. The “Camp de Base” offered trade show support services before, during, and after ISPO: registration, logistics, communications, networking, and a wide variety of other shared services to make it easy for small to medium size brands to exhibit at this major international trade show.

NEW FOR 2020: A DEDICATED PRESS AREA & BREAKFAST MEETINGS
AT THE “CAMP DE BASE”
Just like distributors and retailers, ISPO represents 4 extremely busy days for the press, running to one meeting after another in every far corner of the show. To make it easy for French brands receiving trade show support to meet with the press, distributors, and retailers, the Camp de Base integrated at dedicated press area. Journalists and other media were able to take full advantage of the “press dome,” to conduct meetings, interviews, and video reports at the show. In the same vein, every day the Camp de Base hosted a “Coffee Anyone?” breakfast, providing the press as well as retailers and distributors with free croissants and coffee (But of course!). These informal meeting times provided reinforcement to a series of country “Wine & Cheese” guided visits to the Camp de Base, where OSV met with Scandinavian, British, and German brands and distributors to discuss the French market and introduce them to Camp de Base brands. These new services highlight OSV’s motivation to offer more value-add and services to companies receiving support. The Camp de Base is not just a booth space to exhibit, but a place to meet, exchange ideas, and grow one’s business, whatever the focus.
